In 2017, Kevin E. Graham, the third great-grandson of John Blanks Sr., became the first of his lineage to be inducted into the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). He also made history as the first person of color to join the SAR’s Lower Cape Fear Chapter in Wilmington, North Carolina. Demonstrating his commitment to the organization’s mission, Graham later went on to serve as the chapter’s president.
